WHAT’S THIS SESSION ABOUT?

The AI Act is finally adopted! This legislation, the first of its kind in the world, intents to standardize AI rules, possibly setting a global standard for AI regulation. The AI Act adopts a ‘risk-based’ approach, declaring stricter regulations on AI systems with higher potential to harm society. Its primary goal is to support the development and adoption of safe and trustworthy AI systems within the EU's single market, assuring they respect fundamental rights while supporting investment and innovation.

In this data snack, a summary of the Artificial Intelligence Act will be given, discussing the parts and regulations of the AI Act that are of most importance.
