IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology)  is an international organization of professionals working with information technology and data services to support research and teaching. The organization aims to leverage expertise in the social sciences to help benefit all data professionals and support open science.

Each May/June the annual conference provides data professionals a variety of opportunities to participate in discussions about data sharing and management, data access and repository tools, metadata for research data, best practices for preserving data, global resources for information, new technologies professional development, and much more.

The conference consists of workshops focused on the profession, stimulating plenaries, panel discussions, individual presentations, and posters. Networking opportunities with peers from around the world take place in breakout groups, interest groups, or birds of a feather sessions, and perhaps most importantly, during the breaks.The theme of this year's conference in Philadelphia, USA, is Diversity in Research: Social Justice from Data (Full Program).
