FDM@HSB

Research Data Management at HSB City University of Applied Sciences

The project "Research data management at the HSB City University of Applied Sciences (FDM@HSB)" aims to conceptualize a future-oriented, HSB-specific research data management (RDM) over a period of 36 months. After a positive evaluation of the trial phase in which the RDM concept is tested, it is to be permanently established as a quality-assured RDM at the HSB.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as part of the funding line “Reuse and Management of Research Data at Universities of Applied Sciences".

The FDM@HSB concept is being developed based on five implementation goals:

  • Strategy: Strategic anchoring of RDM as part of HSB's new integrated digitization strategy by developing a research data policy and drawing up guidelines for handling research data
  • Framework and IT services: Establish a customized framework for RDM at HSB, including the use of services for secure data exchange, long-term archiving of, and access to, research data
  • Advice and support: Creation of consultation and support services on RDM for HSB researchers that are tailored to their needs
  • Information, sensitization and competence building: Creation of information and educational offers on RDM for researchers at the HSB
  • Networking: Utilization of existing and establishing new networks to achieve FDM@HSB goals, both regionally and nationally, as well as with the NFDI

As a result, a comprehensive RDM offer for researchers at the HSB should be developed, which both meets the needs of the researchers and takes into account the HSB-specific situation with regard to close research cooperation with partners from industry and practice.
