This workshop conveys workflows to enable lab facility managers to fulfill the criteria required for research data management.

Research data measured in core service facilities and laboratories is expected to fulfill a rapidly growing number of criteria, e.g. FAIR principles, data and IT security and a secure, easy & yet tailored access by its user groups. Terabytes of data are to be retained in a secure and transparent fashion, and made available to hundreds and sometimes thousands of researchers as soon as possibe after the measurements have finished.

After a short summary of what scientific umbrella organisations require from todays research labs, the workshop will go into the nuts and bolts of technical solutions that enable facility heads and lab managers to automate their research data management. Tried & tested methods are introduced and discussed, with a Q & A session at the end of the course.

Using the scientific data management system LOGS is not a prerequisite for this workshop.
